There was a minor upset when 4th placed Logan T. (7-4) lost to sixth ranked South West Metro Pirates (6-4) in Runcorn 91-102 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-91. South West Metro Pirates looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Guard Ryan Vines (178-91, college: Co.Georgia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jarred Bairstow (201-92, college: Cent.Oklahoma) contributed with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized British forward Obi Kyei (206-94, college: Eckerd, agency: Two Points) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and forward Mitch Young (206-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 23 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Logan T.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. South West Metro Pirates maintains sixth place in League with 6-4 record. Loser Logan T. dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. South West Metro Pirates will face Ipswich Force (#13) in Booval in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Logan T. will play at home against Brisbane Capitals (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
