No shocking result in a game when second ranked Sunshine CR (10-1) beat on the road 10th ranked Toowoomba Mountaineers (4-6) 107-100 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 107-100. Sunshine CR made 32-of-41 free shots (78.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Toowoomba Mountaineers were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Guard Isaih Tueta (187-91) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Sunshine CR players scored in double figures. American guard Damon Bozeman (190, college: Saginaw Valley) answered with 51 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Harold Ridgeway (203, college: Midland) added 7 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Toowoomba Mountaineers. Sunshine CR maintains second place in League with 10-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Mackay M. Loser Toowoomba Mountaineers dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Sunshine CR will face Brisbane Spartans (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Toowoomba Mountaineers will play against NGC Seahawks and hope to win that game.
