Very expected game in East Burwood where 7th ranked Ballarat Rush (4-10) was rolled over by first ranked Spectres (12-3) 90-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Spectres led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Spectres forced 23 Ballarat Rush turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Ballarat Rush's players. Guard Marena Whittle (180-94, college: N.Dakota St.) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Keeley Frawley chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Courtney Walker (173-94, college: Texas A&M) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and Taiwanese center Hsi-Le Bao (196-90) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Spectres maintains first position in League with 12-3 record. Loser Ballarat Rush keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. Spectres will face Diamond Valley Eagles (#5) in Greensborough in the next round. Ballarat Rush will play at home against the league's second-placed Lady Cobras and hope to win that game.
