The most important game in the last round took place in Caracas between second ranked Panteras (9-5) and fourth ranked Guaiqueries (8-8) on Sunday night. Panteras were defeated by Guaiqueries at home 82-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panteras. Guaiqueries looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Anthony Smith (195-86, college: Liberty) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Derwin Ramirez (191-82) who added 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) responded with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Jhon Romero (199-85) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Panteras' coach Manuel Povea rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaiqueries maintains fourth position with 8-8 record. Panteras at the other side keep the second place with five games lost.
