There was a small surprise in Canberra where eighth ranked BA CoE (3-15) beat 6th ranked Hobart Chargers (6-8) 72-67 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 39-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Isabel Palmer (178-1) fired 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Isabelle Bourne (186-0) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and her fellow American import guard Brittany Smart (175-85, college: Cedarville) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. BA CoE maintains eighth position in League with 3-15 record. Loser Hobart Chargers keep the sixth place with eight games lost. BA CoE's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Canberra to the arena Nationals.
