The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Spectres as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Spectres defeated 6th ranked NW Tasmania Thunder in East Burwood 86-73. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-73. Spectres dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to NW Tasmania Thunder's 32. Thomas Wright orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) contributed with 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jeremiah Ingram (201-93, college: N.C.Central) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Ben Richmond (194-93) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for NW Tasmania Thunder. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. NW Tasmania Thunder at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. NW Tasmania Thunder will play next round against strong Dandenong Rangers trying to get back on the winning streak. Spectres will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Diamond Valley Eagles in Greensborough.
