Regular Season Round 8: Guangxi - Henan 110-94

NBL top team - Guangxi (7-1) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Henan (2-6) 110-94. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Guangxi's pressure prevailed and they won that period 41-29 extending their advantage to 16 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Henan's 46. They outrebounded Henan 52-40 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 39 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five Guangxi players scored in double figures. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) replied with 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Rakeem Christmas (206-91, college: Syracuse) added 17 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Henan. Guangxi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Henan at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with six games lost. They share the position with Luoyang. Guangxi are looking forward to face Luoyang (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Henan will play against Fujian in Fuzhou and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
