The game between 10th ranked Chongqing (2-5) and second ranked Shaanxi X. (6-1) in Lanling on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Xian outscored Chongqing 104-83. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 104-83. Shaanxi X. dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Chongqing's 48. They outrebounded Chongqing 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. South Sudanese-Lebanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Guard XiaoHang Yu (193-89) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Five Shaanxi X. players scored in double figures. Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Yang Wang (198-90) added 22 points in the effort for Chongqing. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shaanxi X. have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 6-1 record behind leader Guangxi, which they share with Anhui and Guizhou. Loser Chongqing keeps the tenth place with five games lost. Shaanxi X. will face Lhasa (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Chongqing will play against Beijing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
