Very expected game when 8th ranked Hawks (8-11) lost to third ranked Flames (13-4) in Rockingham 51-58 on Friday. Flames forced 20 Hawks turnovers. Guard Jacinta Bourne (168-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Maddison Allen (190-93, college: Santa Clara) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. New Zealand guard Antonia Farnworth-Edmondson (181-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and the former international power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: LBM Management) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. Hawks' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Flames maintains third place in League with 13-4 record having just two points less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Hawks keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Flames will face Senators (#7) in Perth in the next round. Hawks will play at home against Suns and hope to win that game.
