There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Geelong Supercats (10-8) beat at home 4th placed Tigers (9-8) 85-67 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Venezuelan forward Daniela Wallen (180-95, college: Oklahoma City) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Charlotte Brancatisano contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tigers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Geelong Supercats maintains fourth place in League with 10-8 record which they share with defeated Tigers. Loser Tigers keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Geelong Supercats will face league's leader Lady Cobras in Kilsyth in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tigers will play at home against Tornadoes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
