Everything could happen in Floreat at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Hawks and 9th ranked Slammers had identical 7-11 record. This time Hawks used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Bunbury 82-49 on Saturday night. Hawks held Slammers to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Slammers 57-32 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. New Zealand guard Antonia Farnworth-Edmondson (181-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Tayah Burrows answered with 10 points and guard Kate Fielding (176-86) added 7 points and 5 assists in the effort for Slammers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks maintains eighth place in League with 8-11 record. Loser Slammers keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Hawks will face higher ranked Suns (#4) in Kalamunda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slammers will play at home against the league's second-placed Redbacks (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
