Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Cougars (6-13) were outscored by second ranked Redbacks (16-4) in Hamilton Hill 82-63 on Saturday. Redbacks dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cougars' 32. They outrebounded Cougars 47-32 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Kayla Standish (187-89, college: Gonzaga) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Alix Hayward (178-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Redbacks' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Brianna Moyes (170, college: Akron) answered with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Isabelle Miotti (178-98) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Cougars. Redbacks maintains second place in League with 16-4 record having just four point less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Cougars keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Redbacks will face Slammers (#9) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play on the road against Tigers in Willetton and hope to win that game.
