Everything went according to plan when first ranked Flames (12-1) outplayed 11th ranked Dolphins (4-8) in Townsville 75-44 on Saturday. Flames forced 24 Dolphins turnovers. Forward Darcee Garbin (187-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Miela Goodchild (175-0) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Flames players scored in double figures. American swingman NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jade Kennedy (185-89, college: Wyoming) added 2 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Dolphins. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames maintains first place in League with 12-1 record. Loser Dolphins keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. Flames will face Meteorettes (#8) in Mackay in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
