Very predictable result when seventh ranked Cyclones (9-5) edged 14th ranked Power (1-12) in Gladstone 98-95 on Saturday. Cyclones outrebounded Power 50-28 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Shanavia Dowdell (188-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Guard Amanda Frost (174-91, college: N.Arizona) answered with 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Tanaya Atkinson (183, college: Temple) added 25 points and 5 steals in the effort for Power. Four Cyclones and five Power players scored in double figures. Cyclones moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Power keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Cyclones will face Capitals (#10) in Brisbane in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Power will play at home against Force (#4) and hope to win that game.
