Regular Season Round 17: Ipswich F. - Sunshine CP 79-74

There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Force (9-2) beat second-ranked Sunshine CP (10-3) in Booval 79-74 on Saturday. Force looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Amanda Johnson orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international center Abby Bishop (189-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international point guard Natalie Hurst (164-83) added 21 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Sunshine CP. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Force maintains fourth place in League with 9-2 record. Loser Sunshine CP keeps the second position with three games lost. Force will face Power (#14) in Gladstone in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
