Regular Season Round 17: S.Adelaide P. - Southern T. 33-86

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Panthers (0-16) were outleveled by fifth ranked Tigers (9-7) in Adelaide 86-33 on Saturday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Panthers' 20 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Tigers forced 37 Panthers turnovers and outrebounded them 47-25 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Panthers' players. Forward Mollie McKendrick (183-93, college: Boston U.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Denelle Fawcett contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Haley Bunce (-91) answered with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Phoebe Wittwer-Smith added 5 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Panthers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers maintains fifth place in League with 9-7 record. Loser Panthers still closes the standings with 16 games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Flames (#3) in Marden in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panthers will play on the road against Eagles (#4) in Goodwood and hope to get finally their first victory.
