Very expected game when 13th ranked Rollers (2-11) lost to sixth ranked Seahawks (8-5) in Runaway Bay 66-83 on Saturday. Seahawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Casey Samuels (182-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. New Zealand forward Alicia Carline (190-93, college: Portland St.) answered with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Siarn Woods added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Rollers. Rollers' coach tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory Seahawks went down to seventh position (League) due to points difference. Loser Rollers keep the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Seahawks will face higher ranked Cyclones (#5) in Rockhampton in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rollers will play on the road against Sunshine CR (#9) in Sippy Downs and hope to win that game.
