Regular Season Round 16: Hitech - Black Scorpions 93-75

TBL top team - Hitech (15-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Black Scorpions (7-9) in Bangkok 93-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Black Scorpions. Hitech dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Black Scorpions' 28. They outrebounded Black Scorpions 54-38 including 19 on the offensive glass. Hitech players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a very good performance for American center Anthony McClain (211-88, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. The other American import guard Avery Scharer (188-86, college: Shoreline CC) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Scharer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Hitech players scored in double figures. International Tawatchai Suktub (-87) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Jittaphon Towaroj (186-91) added 12 points and 8 assists in the effort for Black Scorpions. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitech have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Newly promoted Black Scorpions keep the fifth place with nine games lost. Hitech's next round opponent will be PEA (#4). Black Scorpions will play against TGE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
