Fifth-ranked Velez S. (6-7) made lots of trouble for first ranked Berazategui (10-1) in Buenos Aires. Berazategui managed to secure only one-point victory 57-56. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Velez S. won third quarter 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) who helped to win the game recording 6 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Macarena Durso (169-91) contributed with 15 points for the winners. The former international power forward Victoria Llorente (184-96, agency: ProDep Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Italian power forward Florencia Llorente (181-92) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Velez S.The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Berazategui. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Velez S. at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Rocamora. Berazategui will play against bottom-ranked Las Heras (#8) in Mendoza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Velez S. will have a break next round.
