No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Guizhou (7-3) beat at home 13th ranked Chongqing (2-8) 137-129 on Wednesday. Guizhou shot 60.2 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Guizhou made 8 blocks. American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocks. New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Yang Wang (198-90) answered with 51 points (!!!) and 5 assists and power forward Hao Liu (203-92) added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Chongqing. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Guizhou moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Anhui. Chongqing lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Guizhou will face Lhasa (#7) at home in the next round. Chongqing will play against Wuhan (#8) and hope to win that game.
