Regular Season Round 18: Logan T. - SW Metro P. 63-83

Not a big story in a game in Loganholme where 12th ranked Logan Thunder (3-11) was rolled over by third ranked Pirates (10-2) 83-63 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-63. Pirates made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Swingman Stephanie Bairstow (188-94, college: Utah St.) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Nicole Seekamp (178-92, college: S.Dakota) chipped in 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Mikhaela Donnelly (177-94) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and Ula Motuga scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. Pirates maintains third position in League with 10-2 record having fourteen points less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Logan Thunder keeps the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Pirates will face Capitals (#10) in Brisbane in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Logan Thunder will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sunshine CP in Cotton Tree and hope to win that game.
