The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Senators' (13-11) home victory over 7th ranked Flames (11-11) 105-87 on Friday. Senators looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American forward Robert Anshila (199-86, college: Ft.Hays State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) helped adding 23 points and 7 rebounds. Anshila is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Senators' coach Mike Ellis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Greg Hire (201-87, college: Augusta) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Curtis Washington (208-91, college: Georgia St.) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Senators maintains sixth place in League with 13-11 record. Loser Flames dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Senators will face league's leader Buccaneers in Wonthella in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Flames will play on the road against Redbacks (#3) in Northbridge and hope to win that game.
