Regular Season Round 19: Lakeside L. - SW Slammers 110-99

Date: July 6, 2018
Not a big story in a game in North Lake where 13th ranked Slammers (6-17) were defeated by fifth ranked Lightning (13-10) 110-99 on Friday. Lightning looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) helped adding 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American-Irish forward Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Travis Durnin (201-98) scored 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lightning maintains fifth place in League with 13-10 record. Loser Slammers dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Lightning will face league's second-placed Wanneroo in Joondalup in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slammers will play on the road against Cougars (#10) in Hamilton Hill and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
