Regular Season Round 19: Corio Bay S. - Waverley F. 81-111

Date: July 7, 2018
Not a big story in a game in Geelong where 12th ranked Stingrays (2-17) were rolled over by fourth ranked Waverley Falcons (13-6) 111-81 on Saturday. Waverley Falcons forced 24 Stingrays turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) helped adding 18 points and 7 assists. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Julius Brooks (206-90, college: Loyola, MD) responded with 9 points and 13 rebounds and guard Michael Rebula (189-90) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Waverley Falcons moved-up to third place in League. Loser Stingrays keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Waverley Falcons will face Devils (#10) in Werribee in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stingrays will play at home against the league's leader Ringwood Hawks and hope to win that game.
