The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Brisbane Capitals' (7-6) home victory over 9th ranked Toowoomba Mountaineers (6-8) 125-97 on Saturday. Brisbane Capitals forced 26 Toowoomba Mountaineers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. It was a great evening for swingman Tim Coenraad (201-85, college: Nova SE) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. American point guard Aaron Anderson (178, college: N.Dakota) helped adding 22 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Brisbane Capitals' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Damon Bozeman (190, college: Saginaw Valley) responded with 41 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Harold Ridgeway (203, college: Midland) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Brisbane Capitals and four Toowoomba Mountaineers players scored in double figures. Brisbane Capitals maintains eighth place in League with 7-6 record. Loser Toowoomba Mountaineers keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Brisbane Capitals will face higher ranked South West Metro Pirates (#6) in Runcorn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toowoomba Mountaineers will play on the road against Rockhampton Rockets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
