Regular Season Round 19: Norwood F. - Southern T. 95-84

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (15-2) in Marden on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Norwood Flames (13-4) 95-84. Norwood Flames shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Bryan McGriff (201, college: E.Oregon) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Forward Luke Stanbridge (192-90) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American swingman CJ Turnage (201-95, college: Saginaw Valley) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Greg Mays (203-93, college: Green Bay) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Norwood Flames maintains third place in League with 13-4 record having just four point less than leader Mackay M. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Norwood Flames are looking forward to face Eastern Mavericks (#10) in Mt. Barker in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will play at home against Forestville Eagles (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
