There was no surprise in Woodville where 9th ranked Central District Lions (3-14) were outplayed by second ranked West Adelaide Bearcats (14-3) 101-63 on Saturday. West Adelaide Bearcats dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Central District Lions' 36 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. West Adelaide Bearcats forced 22 Central District Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 49-29 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. West Adelaide Bearcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Central District Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Tom Kubank (201, college: Mary) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Patrick Thomas (190, college: Mary) helped adding 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side American forward Ricardo Martin (203-92, college: Lander) responded with 16 points and Jimma Dau scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. West Adelaide Bearcats maintains second place in League with 14-3 record having just five point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. West Adelaide Bearcats will face South Adelaide Panthers (#7) in Park Holme in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Central District Lions will play on the road against Sturt Sabres in Pasadena and hope to win that game.
