Regular Season Round 19: Gladstone P. - Ipswich F. 113-125

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Gladstone Port City Power's (3-11) home loss to twelfth ranked Ipswich Force (5-8) 113-125 on Saturday. Ipswich Force shot 67.2 percent from the field and made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Ipswich Force had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Kyle Harvey (196-91, college: Williams Baptist) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). His fellow American import guard Garrett Hall (190-94, college: Saginaw Valley) helped adding 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Harvey is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side American guard Taylor Young (193-90, college: Warner Pacific) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 9 assists and power forward Cirkook Riak (203-92, college: Lamar St.CC) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ipswich Force and five Gladstone Port City Power players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ipswich Force moved-up to tenth place in League. Loser Gladstone Port City Power keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Ipswich Force will face Rollers (#12) in Gold Coast in the next round. Gladstone Port City Power will play on the road against the league's leader Mackay Meteors having rather not much hope for a victory.
