Important game to mention about took place in Talca. Second ranked Universidad de Concepcion (5-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Espanol de Talca (3-4) 77-75 on Sunday evening. Strangely Espanol de Talca outrebounded Universidad de Concepcion 46-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by international swingman Carlos Lauler (190-96) who scored that evening 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Alberto Aguirre (186-97) supported him with 20 points and 4 assists. Even 24 points and 5 assists by guard Pablo Barraza (184-94) did not help to save the game for Espanol de Talca. The former international forward Mohunir Zerene (187-94) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Four Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion keeps a position of Pro leader. Espanol de Talca at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will play against league's second-placed Aleman in Puerto Varas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Espanol de Talca will play against Vial Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
