Another exciting game for Ballarat Miners (11-7) which played on the court of Bendigo Braves (10-8). Second ranked Ballarat Miners won 88-84. It looked good early as Bendigo Braves took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ballarat Miners had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Bendigo Braves were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 84-88. Ballarat Miners made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game, while Bendigo Braves only scored three points from the stripe. Ballarat Miners players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sam Short (195-98) who helped to win the game recording 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Marvin King-Davis (201-93, college: Delaware) who added 21 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Ballarat Miners players scored in double figures. American point guard Jeremy Kendle (186-88, college: Bellarmine) responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-91, college: W.Liberty St.) scored 9 points and 7 assists. Bendigo Braves' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ballarat Miners maintains second position in League with 11-7 record behind leader Mackay M. Bendigo Braves at the other side keep the third place with eight games lost. Ballarat Miners will play against Diamond Valley Eagles (#7) in Greensborough in the next round where they are favorite. Bendigo Braves will play on the road against the league's second-placed Spectres (#2) in East Burwood and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
