Regular Season Round 19: Nunawading S. - Melbourne T. 53-72

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Spectres (13-6) against fourth ranked Tigers (11-8) on Friday night. Host Spectres were crushed by Tigers in East Burwood 72-53. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Monique Conti (165-99) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Guard Marena Whittle (180-94, college: N.Dakota St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Izzy Chilcott (180-90) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Spectres in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigers maintains fourth place in League with 11-8 record. Spectres at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Tigers' next round opponent will be Sydney Uni S. (#5) on the road. Spectres will play against the league's leader Lady Braves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
