There was a small surprise in Cairns where eleventh ranked Dolphins (5-8) won against 9th ranked Sunshine CR (7-8) 104-88 on Friday. It was a great shooting night for Dolphins especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American swingman NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Myra Donkin (173-84) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Dolphins' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Biancia Abbott (183-82) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Carlie Smith added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of her eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Dolphins moved-up to tenth place in League. Loser Sunshine CR keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Dolphins will face Rollers (#13) in Gold Coast in the next round.
