No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Tigers (12-11) beat 12th ranked Magic (6-17) in Willetton 90-73 on Friday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 41 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 30 blocks. Senegalese power forward Badou Diagne (205-93, college: Co.Carolina) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 19 assists. Guard Kyle Armour (183-89, college: Augusta) contributed with 20 points and 5 steals for the winners. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. American guard Shaun Stewart (180-94, college: Limestone) replied with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Jamal Shabazz (198-94, college: Samford) added 21 points and 8 assists in the effort for Magic. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigers moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Magic dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Tigers will face higher ranked Hawks (#4) in Floreat in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Magic will play at home against the league's leader Buccaneers (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
