Regular Season Round 20: Cairns M. - Sunshine CR 79-73

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Sunshine CR (10-5) lost on the road to fifth ranked Cairns Marlins (9-5) 79-73 on Friday. Cairns Marlins made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Forward Christian Jurlina (196, college: Whitworth, agency: MKP Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Anthony Fisher (187-94) contributed with 23 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Power forward Joshua Tueta (202-89, college: MSU-Northern) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and guard Isaih Tueta (187-91) added 20 points and 8 assists in the effort for Sunshine CR. Five Cairns Marlins and four Sunshine CR players scored in double figures. Cairns Marlins maintains fifth position in League with 9-5 record. Loser Sunshine CR dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Cairns Marlins will face Rollers (#11) in Gold Coast in the next round where they are favorite. Sunshine CR will play at home against the league's leader Mackay Meteors (#1) and hope to win that game.
