No shocking result in a game when leader Lady Braves (18-0) defeated on the road 4th placed Geelong Supercats (10-9) 91-83 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 30-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Lady Braves made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Lady Braves outrebounded Geelong Supercats 46-30 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) fired a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. Lady Braves' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Venezuelan forward Daniela Wallen (180-95, college: Oklahoma City) produced 29 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and American guard Alexandra Duck (170-90, college: Murray St.) added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Lady Braves maintains first place in League with 18-0 record. Loser Geelong Supercats keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Lady Braves will face league's second-placed Spectres in East Burwood in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Geelong Supercats will play at home against Nationals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
