Regular Season Round 20: Townsville H. - Sunshine CR 108-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd ranked Sunshine CR's (10-5) road loss to second ranked Townsville Heat (11-3) in Hermit Park 78-108 on Saturday. Townsville Heat dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Sunshine CR's 34. They outrebounded Sunshine CR 50-24 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Townsville Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Center Harrison Froling (211-98, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Baker attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Townsville Heat's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Lance Hurdle (188-87, college: Miami, FL) replied with 26 points and guard Isaih Tueta (187-91) added 13 points and 9 assists in the effort for Sunshine CR. Five Townsville Heat and four Sunshine CR players scored in double figures. Townsville Heat maintains second position in League with 11-3 record behind leader Mackay M. Loser Sunshine CR dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Townsville Heat will face Rockhampton Rockets (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sunshine CR will play against the league's leader Mackay Meteors (#1) and hope to win that game.
