There was no surprise when 9th ranked Central District Lions (3-14) were edged by seventh ranked Sturt Sabres (6-11) in Pasadena 76-75 on Saturday. Sturt Sabres forced 20 Central District Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Central District Lions were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Dylan Rawson saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Jack Turnbull (190, college: Mayville St.) contributed with 9 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Koen Sapwell (190, college: CS Monterey) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Keith Jumper (203-94, college: Pfeiffer) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Central District Lions. Sturt Sabres moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Sturt Sabres will face South Adelaide Panthers (#7) in Park Holme in the next round. Central District Lions will play on the road against North Adelaide Rockets in Greenacres and hope to win that game.
