Regular Season Round 19: Melbourne T. - Dandenong R. 82-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Rangers' (9-10) road loss to fourth ranked Tigers (11-8) 72-82 on Saturday. Rangers were trailing by 14 points at halftime but managed to get 10-point lead after three quarters before a 26-6 charge of Tigers, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rangers to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Rangers' players. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-92) fired 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Point guard Monique Conti (165-99) chipped in 28 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) and center Rebecca Pizzey (190-99) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Rangers players scored in double figures. Tigers maintains fourth place in League with 11-8 record. Loser Rangers dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Tigers will face Sydney Uni S. (#5) on the road in the next round. Rangers will play against Nationals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
