No shocking result in a game when first ranked Ringwood Hawks (16-4) beat 12th ranked Stingrays (2-18) in Geelong 93-76 on Sunday. Ringwood Hawks made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Stingrays outrebounded Ringwood Hawks 60-48 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Matthew Fennell orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Shaun Clarke (204) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. Aaron Lynch replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Michael Rebula (189-90) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Stingrays. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ringwood Hawks maintains first position in League with 16-4 record. Loser Stingrays keep the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Ringwood Hawks will face McKinnon C. (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Stingrays will play against Knox Raiders (#7) and hope to win that game.
