Regular Season Round 9: CDU Concepcion - Aleman 54-59

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Concepcion. Second ranked Aleman faced leader Universidad de Concepcion. Guests from Puerto Varas (5-1) defeated host Universidad de Concepcion (5-3) 59-54. The best player for the winners was forward Marko Castro (192-88) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Francisco Garrido (-88) chipped in 6 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman Carlos Lauler (190-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and guard Alberto Aguirre (186-97) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Aleman keeps a position of Pro leader. Loser Universidad de Concepcion dropped to the second place with three games lost. Aleman will face Espanol de Talca (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
