Very expected game when 5th ranked Dandenong Rangers (9-10) lost at home to first ranked Chargers (14-5) 99-90 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-90. Naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Tre Nichols (180-89, college: Boise St., agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 26 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Chargers players scored in double figures. The former international forward Rhys Vague (204-96) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Puoch Puoch added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Dandenong Rangers. Dandenong Rangers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chargers maintains first position in League with 14-5 record. Loser Dandenong Rangers keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Chargers will face NW Tasmania Thunder (#4) in Ulverstone in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play at home against Canberra Gunners and hope to win that game.
