A very close game took place in Colon (derby !!!) between Colon and 25 de Agosto. Third ranked Colon (8-3) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked 25 de Agosto (6-5). Colon managed to escape with a 3-point win 85-82 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of 25 de Agosto. 25 de Agosto was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Colon made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Colon made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Aaron Cosby (190-92, college: W.Kentucky) who led the winners and scored 32 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Fernando Verrone (196-88) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Colon players scored in double figures. American guard Jesse Hardin (188-93, college: Walsh) came up with 25 points and 7 rebounds and forward Martin Rojas (197-98) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively for 25 de Agosto in the defeat. Colon moved-up to second place, which they share with Capitol. Loser 25 de Agosto dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Stockolmo and U Atletica. Colon will meet league's second-placed Capitol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. 25 de Agosto's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Lagomar.
