Regular Season Round 5: Atlanta - Los Angeles 123-170

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Atlanta (5-2) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Los Angeles (6-2) 170-123. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Los Angeles dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Atlanta's 56. Los Angeles forced 27 Atlanta turnovers and outrebounded them 93-61 including a 46-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Los Angeles made 8 blocks. Four Los Angeles and five Atlanta players scored in double figures. Los Angeles have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-2 record. Atlanta at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. Los Angeles are looking forward to face Houston (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Atlanta will play against Dallas (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
