Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Mountaineers (0-15) were outscored by twelfth ranked Logan Thunder (5-11) in Toowoomba 111-52 on Friday. The game without a history. Logan Thunder led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Mountaineers' 32 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Mountaineers 55-22 including a 40-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Logan Thunder looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Mountaineers' players. Swingman Mikhaela Donnelly (177-94) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 16 assists. American-Mexican forward Jacqueline Luna-Castro (188-93, college: Charleston) contributed with 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. American swingman Donnaizha Fountain (183, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with 25 points and 8 rebounds and Despena Dickerson (-96) added 9 points in the effort for Mountaineers. Mountaineers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Logan Thunder maintains twelfth position in League with 5-11 record. Loser Mountaineers still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Logan Thunder will have a break next round. Mountaineers will play again on the road against Logan Thunder (#12) in Loganholme and hope to get finally their first victory.
