Regular Season Round 7: Vikingos - La Salle Tarija 97-99

Sixth-ranked Vikingos (0-5) made lots of trouble for leader La Salle Tarija (7-0) on Friday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 99-97. However their fans expected much easier game. Venezuelan guard Michael Flores (192-85) fired a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winners. American forward Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four La Salle Tarija players scored in double figures. Brazilian center Rafael Rodrigues (213-87) produced a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) and Venezuelan point guard Elvis Baez (189-89) added 26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. La Salle Tarija have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Vikingos at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. La Salle Tarija will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vikingos will play at home against Carl A-Z (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
