An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Potosi. Leader Calero faced their biggest opponent Pichincha. Host Calero (5-0) defeated guests from Pichincha (3-4) 109-102. Calero well out of reach of Pichincha shooting 70.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Calero looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Mike Liabo (198-91, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists. The former international forward Cristhian Camargo (194-92) helped adding 27 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Liabo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Trevante Drye (199-93, college: Tulane) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Rene Calvo (193-93) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Calero. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Loser Pichincha keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Rubair. Calero will meet at home La Salle CBBA (#5) in the next round. Pichincha will have a break next round.
