Regular Season Round 12: Capitol - Colon 98-95

Date: July 20, 2018
The most exciting game of round 12 in the Metropolitan took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Colon (8-4) to second ranked Capitol (9-3) 98-95 in the game for the second place. Capitol made 30-of-38 free shots (78.9 percent) during the game, while Colon only scored thirteen points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Capitol especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by Colon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Gene Teague (206-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: DTMones) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Matias Lado (174-84) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Five Capitol players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Aaron Cosby (190-92, college: W.Kentucky) with 47 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and forward Fernando Verrone (196-88) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. Colon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitol maintains second position with 9-3 record behind leader Cordon. Colon at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost.
