Very predictable result when first ranked North Bears (13-2) rolled over 6th ranked Comets (7-8) in Alexandria 95-49 on Saturday. North Bears dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Comets' 32 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Comets 56-29 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canadian forward Kendra Asleson (183-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Renae Garlepp (177-86) contributed with 29 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Serika Shillingsworth replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Dutch Danielle Pruijs (184-97) added 13 points in the effort for Comets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. North Bears maintains first position in League with 13-2 record. Loser Comets keep the sixth place with eight games lost. North Bears will face Bruins (#5) in Condell Park in the next round.
