Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Wildcats (2-15) lost to seventh ranked Thunder (6-11) in Eltham 48-58 on Saturday. Thunder outrebounded Wildcats 54-29 including a 41-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Erin Bollmann (180-94, college: SE Missouri St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import center Kailyn Williams (193-94, college: Beth.-Cookman) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) replied with 19 points and point guard Jordyn OShea (169-92) added 10 points in the effort for Wildcats. Newly promoted Thunder maintains seventh position in League with 6-11 record. Loser Wildcats keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. Thunder will face higher ranked Sharks (#5) in Dromana in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wildcats will play on the road against Hawks (#6) in Heathmont and hope to win that game.
