Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Guizhou (13-6) and Henan (9-10), which took place in Henan. Higher ranked Guizhou was outleveled in a road game by ninth ranked Henan 122-100. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guizhou. Henan made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Guizhou 46-35 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: IPFW) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!) and 4 steals and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Rakeem Christmas (206-91, college: Syracuse) who added 15 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) scored 31 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Henan moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lhasa. Guizhou at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Henan will play against higher ranked Wuhan (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Guizhou will play against Luoyang and hopes to get back on the winning track.
